讚美詩 4 因陀羅

सु॒रू॒प॒ऽकृ॒त्नुम् । ऊ॒तये॑ । सु॒दुघा॑म्ऽइव । गो॒ऽदुहे॑ । जु॒हू॒मसि॑ । द्यवि॑ऽद्यवि ॥

surūpa-kṛtnum | ūtaye | sudughām-iva | go–duhe | juhūmasi | dyavi-dyavi

As a good cow to him who milks, we call the doer of fair deeds, To our assistance day by day.

對於一個擠奶人來說是一頭好牛，我們稱祂為正義的使者，每天都提供我們幫助。

उप॑ । नः॒ । सव॑ना । आ । ग॒हि॒ । सोम॑स्य । सो॒म॒ऽपाः॒ । पि॒ब॒ । गो॒ऽदाः । इत् । रे॒वतः॑ । मदः॑ ॥

upa | naḥ | savanā | ā | gahi | somasya | soma-pāḥ | piba | go–dāḥ | it | revataḥ | madaḥ

Come thou to our libations, drink of Soma; Soma−drinker thou! The rich One's rapture giveth kine.

快降臨到我們的奠禮，喝了蘇瑪汁，喝了蘇瑪汁的你，像是狂喜的富人，賜予母牛。

अथ॑ । ते॒ । अन्त॑मानाम् । वि॒द्याम॑ । सु॒ऽम॒ती॒नाम् । मा । नः॒ । अति॑ । ख्यः॒ । आ । ग॒हि॒ ॥

atha | te | antamānām | vidyāma | su-matīnām | mā | naḥ | ati | khyaḥ | ā | gahi

So may we be acquainted with thine innermost benevolence:Neglect us not, come hitherward.

讓我們可以瞭解你內心深處的仁慈了：不要忽視我們，到這裡來吧。

परा॑ । इ॒हि॒ । विग्र॑म् । अस्तृ॑तम् । इन्द्र॑म् । पृ॒च्छ॒ । वि॒पः॒ऽचित॑म् । यः । ते॒ । सखि॑ऽभ्यः । आ । वर॑म् ॥

parā | ihi | vigram | astṛtam | indram | pṛccha | vipaḥ-citam | yaḥ | te | sakhi-bhyaḥ | ā | varam

Go to the wise unconquered One, ask thou of Indra, skilled in song,Him who is better than thy friends.

去那位從未被征服、聰明的因陀羅那裏，問他吧，那位比你的朋友們更擅長於唱歌的智者。

उ॒त । ब्रु॒व॒न्तु॒ । नः॒ । निदः॑ । निः । अ॒न्यतः॑ । चित् । आ॒र॒त॒ । दधा॑नाः । इन्द्रे॑ । इत् । दुवः॑ ॥

uta | bruvantu | naḥ | nidaḥ | niḥ | anyataḥ | cit | ārata | dadhānāḥ | indre | it | duvaḥ

Whether the men who mock us say, Depart unto another place,Ye who serve Indra and none else;

無論那些嘲笑者怎麼說，到另外一個地方去吧。除了因陀羅，你不會為其他的人服務。

उ॒त । नः॒ । सु॒भगा॑न् । अ॒रिः । वो॒चेयुः॑ । द॒स्म॒ । कृ॒ष्टयः॑ । स्याम॑ । इत् । इन्द्र॑स्य । शर्म॑णि ॥

uta | naḥ | subhagān | ariḥ | voceyuḥ | dasma | kṛṣṭayaḥ | syāma | it | indrasya | śarmaṇi

Or whether, God of wondrous deeds, all our true people call us blest,Still may we dwell in Indra's care.

或者，奇蹟之神，我們所有真正的人都稱我們是有福的，我們仍然可以安住在因陀羅的守護中。

आ । ई॒म् । आ॒शुम् । आ॒शवे॑ । भ॒र॒ । य॒ज्ञ॒ऽश्रिय॑म् । नृ॒ऽमाद॑नम् । प॒त॒यत् । म॒न्द॒यत्ऽस॑खम् ॥

ā | īm | āśum | āśave | bhara | yajña-śriyam | nṛ-mādanam | patayat | mandayat-sakham

 Unto the swift One bring the swift, man−cheering, grace of sacrifice,That to the Friend gives wings and joy.

給迅捷的人帶來迅速的，歡呼的，獻祭的恩典，給朋友的翅膀(意指激勵、鼓舞人心)及喜樂

अ॒स्य । पी॒त्वा । श॒त॒क्र॒तो॒ इति॑ शतऽक्रतो । घ॒नः । वृ॒त्राणा॑म् । अ॒भ॒वः॒ । प्र । आ॒वः॒ । वाजे॑षु । वा॒जिन॑म् ॥

asya | pītvā | śatakrato itiśata-krato | ghanaḥ | vṛtrāṇām | abhavaḥ | pra | āvaḥ | vājeṣu | vājinam

Thou, Satakratu, drankest this and wast the Vrtras' slayer; thou Helpest the warrior in the fray.

你，Satakratu(帝釋天—也就是因陀羅)，喝了這個(Soma汁)，成為去除Vrtras**的殺手，你幫助了戰鬥中的戰士

तम् । त्वा॒ । वाजे॑षु । वा॒जिन॑म् । वा॒जया॑मः । श॒त॒क्र॒तो॒ इति॑ शतऽक्रतो । धना॑नाम् । इ॒न्द्र॒ । सा॒तये॑ ॥

tam | tvā | vājeṣu | vājinam | vājayāmaḥ | śatakrato itiśata-krato | dhanānām | indra | sātaye

We strengthen, Satakratu, thee, yea, thee the powerful in fight,That, Indra, we may win us wealth.

我們變強大了，Satakratu (帝釋天)，你，是的，你是在戰鬥中的強者，那麼，因陀羅，我們可以為我們自己贏得財富。

यः । रा॒यः । अ॒वनिः॑ । म॒हान् । सु॒ऽपा॒रः । सु॒न्व॒तः । सखा॑ । तस्मै॑ । इन्द्रा॑य । गा॒य॒त॒ ॥

yaḥ | rāyaḥ | avaniḥ | mahān | su-pāraḥ | sunvataḥ | sakhā | tasmai | indrāya | gāyata

To him the mighty stream of wealth, prompt friend ot'him who pours the juice,

對他來說，他是巨大的財富之流，是及時的朋友，或者是到Soma汁的人(獻祭者)。
